10) Roberto Baggio (AC Milan > Bologna)

Baggio is regarded as one of the best no. 10’s ever. He played behind George Weah at AC Milan for two years before he fell out of favour. He was known as a short, pacey player who liked to run at defences. Luciano Moggi, Milan’s manager at the time, claimed that there was no place for a player like him in the more “physical” modern game. He was told that the club had no intention of renewing his contract and that if he wanted to stay then he would have to take a 50% wage cut. Instead he opted to join Bologna where he won the golden boot in his first season.
