TELL US WHAT YOU THINK All of us that find ourselves in thrall to this silly game canremember the excitement we've felt when seeing a teenage star firstshow signs that he is destined to be a top player.[LNB]For mostof us, it was a joyous moment when 16-year-old Wayne Rooney smashedthat goal home for Everton against Arsenal in 2002. It also set theheart racing to see  a teenage Michael Owen when he began to terrorisedefences at home and abroad.[LNB]Rooney should line up against hisformer club when Manchester United play Everton at Old Trafford onSaturday. Both clubs are right up there with the best of them when itcomes to producing top young players.[LNB]Here at Sportsmail wethought it was high time to remember some of those young Premier Leaguestars that made us sit up and take notice.[LNB]We'll count down ourtop 50 throughout the week, and reveal our top 10 on Friday. As ever,we welcome your views and please feel free to have your say.[LNB]Read Nos 50-41 Read Nos 40-31 Read Nos 30-21 [LNB]20 David BeckhamTHAT lob against Wimbledon is the goal many believe announced Manchester United's newest star to the English game.[LNB]But he was just out of his teens by this time and Beckham had been showing glimpses of what was to come for a couple of years, with his pinpoint delivery and quarterback passes. [LNB]Currently having a kick around playing 'soccer' in America before he comes back to Europe to proper football with AC Milan.  [LNB] Star was born: Beckham[LNB]Hard to beat: Cole[LNB] 19 Ashley ColeAn East End boy who counted Sol Campbell as a mate when growing up in Plaistow.[LNB]Cole was given his chance at Arsenal after injury to the Brazilain left-back Sylvinho and went on to win two league titles with the Gunners. [LNB]He soon established himself as one of the finest defenders in the world and the Chelsea star is England's first-choice left-back. [LNB]18 Frank Lampard[LNB]Lampard is another England regular who started his career at West Ham. He had become an established member of the first team by the 1997-98 season and his goals from midfield helped the team to their highest-ever finish in the Premier League the following year - fifth. [LNB]The Chelsea favourite won back-to-back titles under Jose Mourinho.[LNB] Dynamic: Lampard[LNB]Fiery: Bowyer[LNB] 17 Lee BowyerBowyer started his career with Charlton but Leeds boss Howard Wilkinson was impressed enough to splash out £2.8million on the midfielder - a record at the time for a teenager. [LNB]Bowyer had to bide his time at Elland Road but went on to become an integral part of the side of the late 1990s and early 2000s that went close in the Premier League and Champions League. [LNB]A well-travelled player with a chequered past, Bowyer is now at Birmingham City.[LNB]16 Emile HeskeyHeskey made his debut for Leicester just weeks after signing pro forms aged 17.[LNB] He went on to become a regular for the Foxes and helped the team win promotion to the Premier League in 1995-1996. [LNB]Heskey redefined the support-striker role and won an £11m move to Liverpool. [LNB]In and out of the Aston Villa side but still a decent bet to feature in Fabio Capello's squad at next year's World Cup.[LNB] Big talent: Heskey[LNB]Captain fantastic: Barry[LNB] 15 Gareth BarryBarry was always destined to reach the top of the game after captaining the England Under 18s when he was just 16. [LNB]After being courted by Rafa Benitez who wanted the midfielder to move to Liverpool, he agreed a switch to Manchester City in the summer. [LNB]14 Nicky BarmbyBorn in Hull but made his name at Tottenham, becoming a regular in the Spurs side when he was just 18. [LNB]Barmby scored his first goal as Spurs came from two down against Middlesbrough in 1992 and was an integral part of Ossie Ardiles' highly entertaining yet ultimately unsuccessful five-man attack in 1994. [LNB]Now back at the club he supported as a boy and hoping he can help the Tigers avoid relegation.[LNB] Hull and back: Barmby[LNB]Harry's game: Kewell[LNB] 13 Harry KewellKewell was brought to a several clubs' attention during a series of matches he played as a youngster while on tour from Australia - Leeds won the battle for his signature.[LNB]The Aussie was a key member of the Leeds team that went close in domestic and European competition. [LNB]Moved to Liverpool but injury hampered his progress and he is now at Turkish outfit Galatasaray.[LNB]12 Jermain DefoeDefoe's career began at Charlton but he soon moved to West Ham where he immediately impressed as one of the most naturally gifted goalscorers of his generation.[LNB]He finished as the Hammers' top scorer in the 2001-02 season despite being used primarily as a substitute. [LNB]Now in his second spell at Tottenham, his excellent Premier League form and recent double for England against Holland has propelled him into contention for a place on the plane to South Africa.[LNB] Hot shot: Defoe[LNB]Kop kid: Gerrard[LNB] 11 Steven GerrardPlayers like Gerrard don't come around too often - a box-to-box athlete with a never-say-die attitude that lit up the Liverpool side from the moment he made his debut in 1998.
