Simon Jones is Sportsmail's man on the inside of all the biggest (and littlest) transfer moves this summer. [LNB]  His column, published every weekday, offers an insight into the deals which will be done and those that won't - and why. [LNB]A 5/5-rating  means The Insider reckons it's a done deal; 0/5 means The Insider has his mortgage on it not happening.[LNB]Don't miss your daily instalment of The Insider every weekday through the transfer window here at MailOnline.[LNB] Richard DunneManchester City to Aston Villa - The Insider says: 4/5Dunne told Sportsmail this week that he does not want to leave City and they may be glad of that as they struggle to nail down the new recruits they have targeted. [LNB] On the move: Ireland international Richard Dunne looks set to join Aston Villa as Manchester City pursue other defensive options[LNB]Dunne has been courted by Sunderland, Stoke, Tottenham and Aston Villa but so far the answer has been the same with the player keen to stay. [LNB]Villa want three defenders in including Stephen Warnock and Sylvain Distin. They may be best placed to persuade Dunne if anybody can.[LNB]Steven Taylor Newcastle to Everton - The Insider says: 3/5We brought news first of Everton's interest and after failing to be convinced over Philippe Senderos, manager David Moyes has considered Taylor who can also offer cover at right-back. [LNB] Back to the top: Steven Taylor could be in line for a swift return to the Premier League after being relegated to the Championship with Newcastle last season[LNB]The problem is, despite Newcastle's current plight, Taylor's price is around £8million and Everton have about half that for a defender with other money earmarked for other targets. [LNB]Moyes still does not want to sacrifice Joleon Lescott and the new signing would be to step in for Phil Jagielka initially.[LNB]Elyaniv Barda Racing Genk to Bolton - The Insider says: 2/5Bolton were among a clutch of Premier League clubs who watched Genk striker Barda in action on Wednesday against Northern Ireland. [LNB] Worth a gamble: Israel international Barda (R) is attracting attention at £4m[LNB]He can play behind a front two as an attacking midfielder or up front and has attracted interest from Everton and Celtic over the past year. [LNB]However, Fulham, Blackburn and Portsmouth were also represented on Wednesday and may decide the 27-year-old Israeli is worth a gamble at around £4m.[LNB]Martin PetrovManchester City to Tottenham - The Insider says: 4/5The Bulgarian has impressed in pre-season but knows he will struggle to cement a place in City's starting eleven once all their big name stars are fit again. [LNB]He suffered ligament damage last season but came back and has enjoyed a good summer's training. [LNB] London calling: Long-term Spurs target Petrov could get his wish to leave City[LNB]Sportsmail revealed Tottenham's interest last month and manager Harry Redknapp is ready to press ahead with a deal for around £5m. [LNB]He is weighing up other targets too as ever but may have to sell first before bringing another player in.[LNB]Lucas NeillWest Ham to Sunderland - The Insider says: 4/5 Sportsmail again revealed last month that Sunderland had spoken to Neill and were keen to harness his aggressive style into their team. [LNB]Manager Steve Bruce was still unsure over the Australian's wage demands and that is where a compromise must be struck. [LNB] Waltzing away: Lucas Neill in action against one of his potential new Sunderland team-mates Kieran Richardson[LNB]Neill has an offer from West Ham to stay but again on reduced terms. [LNB]Bruce also wants John Mensah and Sylvain Distin but believes Philippe Senderos is lacking too much match fitness to press ahead with a £4m deal just now.[LNB]   More from Simon Jones - The Insider... THE INSIDER'S LIVE WINDOW WATCH: Arsene Wenger block Fabregas and Merida moves... plus all of Friday's hot gossip14/08/09 THE INSIDER: Manchester United take keeper search to Germany and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp keeps tabs on Nadir Belhadj13/08/09 THE INSIDER'S LIVE WINDOW WATCH: Van Gaal cool on Bosingwa, Pompey bid for striker Dindane... plus all of Thursday's hot gossip13/08/09 THE INSIDER: Sunderland swoop for Lee Cattermole as Bolo Zenden heads back to England with Portsmouth12/08/09 THE INSIDER'S LIVE WINDOW WATCH: Inter up the ante in fight with Aston Villa for Wesley Sneijder... plus all of Wednesday's hot gossip12/08/09 THE INSIDER: Aston Villa ready to pounce as Jermaine Jenas gets frustrated at Spurs and Blackburn get first crack at Real Madrid legend Michel Salgado11/08/09 THE INSIDER'S LIVE WINDOW WATCH: Man City in £150m bid for Lionel Messi, Spaniards eye Spurs defender... plus all of Tuesday's hot gossip11/08/09 THE INSIDER: Spurs tracking Celtic and Scotland star Scott Brown, Aston Villa could turn to Middlesbrough's Robert Huth and Stoke star Ryan Shawcross on Liverpool's radar10/08/09 VIEW FULL ARCHIVE [LNB]  Explore more:People:Sylvain Distin, Harry Redknapp, Steve Bruce, Philippe Senderos, Martin Petrov, Joleon Lescott, Lucas Neill, Simon Jones, David Moyes, Steven Taylor, Richard DunnePlaces:London, Ireland, Israel, Northern Ireland
