After cruising to a 4-0 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup Final, Arsenal were cruising around in an open top bus for their victory parade. It might have been a grey and murky day with the occasional spot of rain, but the day after turning Wembley yellow, the club turned North London red.
Theo Walcott scored first in the FA Cup, hammering home a left-footed effort five minutes before the break. Arsenal’s lead was doubled by a fine 25-yard effort from Alexis Sanchez. Per Mertesacker headed in a third, with substitute Olivier Giroud wrapping up scoring from close range in stoppage time.
The Gunners recorded the biggest FA Cup final winning margin in more than 20 years. Arsenal have now won the trophy a record 12 times and Wenger has been at the helm for half of them. Only George Ramsay, who managed Villa from 1884–1926, has won the same number of FA Cups as Wenger.
