On el of a signing: Swansea loan star Jordi Gomez

10 Jordi Gomez (Espanyol to Swansea, season loan)A great loan signing for Swansea. The club paid just £200,000 for the one-year loan.  He has impressed and has now been linked to a few top clubs. Scored 12 goals as Swansea finished an impressive 8th in Championship.

8 Brad Friedel (Blackburn Rovers to Aston Villa, £2m)Friedel's consistent form has helped Aston Villa qualify for Europe. He has played in all of Villa's matches so far this season and has kept a clean sheet in 12 matches.

7 Kevin Phillips (West Brom to Birmingham City, Free)The 35-year-old scored 14 goals which helped Birmingham return to Barclays Premier League after one season in Championship.

Shrew beauty: Grant Holt

6 Grant Holt (Nottingham Forest to Shrewsbury Town, £170,000)Holt's 20 goals for Shrewsbury guaranteed the club finished in a play-off place.

5 Andrey Arshavin (Zenit St Petersburg to Arsenal, £12m)Arshavin has transformed Arsenal since his move from Zenit as the winter transfer window was closing. Has scored six in 10 matches including all four goals in Arsenal's 4-4 draw at Liverpool.

4 James Beattie (Sheffield United to Stoke City, £2.5m)Beattie scored six in 13 games since moving to Stoke in January. If Stoke stay up, Beattie deserves credit for some great performances.

Hair-raising: Marouane Fellaini

3 Ross McCormack (Motherwell to Cardiff City, Bosman free)Scored 21 goals during Championship season in which Cardiff City just missed out on play-off place.

2 Mark Schwarzer  (Middlesbrough to Fulham, Bosman free)Outstanding form has helped Fulham to be on the verge of European qualification.

1 Marouane Fellaini  (Standard Liege to Everton, £15m)The 21-year-old Belgium has played 28 league games so far this season, scoring eight. Has been the man of the match in a number of Everton's matches.
