That's enough! City boss Hughes calls for FA to go easy on Adebayor

Mark Hughes insists Emmanuel Adebayor has already paid his penalty as the controversial striker prepares to face his second FA charge for his wild antics against Arsenal. The Manchester City striker has served a three-match ban for stamping on former team-mate Robin van Persie in the 4-2 victory over the Gunners earlier this month. Yet, Adebayor could been hit by a further suspension should the FA take firm action over his manic celebration in front of the Arsenal fans. The Togo hitman raced down the length of the pitch after scoring before sliding on his knees below the visiting supporters at Eastlands. It triggered an angry reaction from the Arsenal end, with coins and a photographer's chair thrown in his direction. But ahead of a decision later this week, City boss Mark Hughes believes the controversy should now be forgotten. 'We'll be putting our views across and we're hopeful of a positive result,' said Hughes.  'We'll see on Thursday. He apologised almost immediately after and I think people need to move on.' Adebayor is available again to Hughes after missing the matches against Manchester United, Fulham and West Ham.
