Swansea and Spain international Miguel Perez Cuesta (Michu) has been linked to a move to the Emirates next season as Arsene Wenger ponders over options to find a top quality finisher who can consistently score goals.

Michu’s first season with Swansea was a terrific success as he notched up 22 goals and also won the Capital One Cup with the club. According to the Daily Mail, the Arsenal scouting team has alerted Wenger that the tall Spaniard, who was snapped up by Swansea for £2 million last year, could be a possible solution to the Gunner’s need for lethal finishers.

Michu has also confessed in the past that he was a big fan of Henry, Bergkamp and Arsenal growing up in Spain.

It would be interesting to wait and watch if Wenger publicly expresses interest in Michu, but if Arsenal does indeed make a move for him, Swansea might stubbornly refuse as they would be unwilling to lose their prized asset. Arsenal has other bigger names linked to them and they are yet to confirm a prolific signing.

The club’s activity in the transfer market will no doubt define their aspirations for next season and it will be a tense time again for the Gunner faithful till the next season ends when the final verdict will be known.
