Pre season is in full swing and its same old story for the Arsenal. Like previous seasons, they are linked with big money moves for marquee players. The likes of Juan Mata, Phil Jones and Yaya Toure have slipped through Arsene Wengers fingers in years gone by. With Wenger in the market for a striker, will he pull of a major transfer coup? Or will it be another close season of disappointment for the Gunners?

Luiz Suarez: The controversial Uruguayan has publicly stated he wants to leave Liverpool, and Arsenal expressed their interest with a £30,000,000 bid, which will not be enough to tempt Liverpool to part with their star player. However with Suarez saying he is sick of being hounded by the English media. The smart money seems to be on Suarez to prefer a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Wayne Rooney: The rumour mill is in full swing and Wayne Rooney is said to be ''angry and confused'' over manager United manager David Moyes statement that Rooney will not be for sale because he is good back up if Robin Van Persie got injured. Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer and what a statement of intent it would be if Arsenal where to sign the 27 year old. However a move to Chelsea would seems to be more in the cards, and a link up with Jose Mourinho could tempt the Scouser to London.

Gonzalo Higuain: Arsenal fans are growing increasingly frustrated as their bid to sign Real Madrid's Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain keeps stalling. For the move to go through Arsenals strict wage structure would have two be broken. With the deal hitting major stumbling blocks Rafael Benitez's Napoli are ready to pounce, and due to the sale of Edison Cavani to PSG, the Italians have money to burn.
