Roman Pavlyuchenko's representatives fear the unhappy Russia striker is being priced out of an escape from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 27-year-old is desperate to leave White Hart Lane after failing to make a League start this season, but his suitors are being put off by Spurs' demands.
Oliver Wendt, who represents the player's interests in Germany, Italy and Spain, said Roma were the only team in his area showing interest.

However, as previously reported by Sportsmail, Roma would prefer to take him on loan, while Tottenham are holding out for a cash deal worth more than the £13.8million they paid Spartak Moscow for him after Euro 2008.
'My client wants to leave Tottenham,' said Wendt. 'But, at the moment, the only European team interested in Roman is Roma. However, there hasn't been a formal offer.
'Tottenham Hotspur haven't changed their position. The club don't want to loan him or sell for less than they bought him.'
There are still options for Pavlyuchenko in Russia, with Spartak, Zenit St Petersburg and Lokomotiv Moscow all interested if the price is right.
The player's primary agent Oleg Artemov is more optimistic about striking a deal and even joked that the player could end up at Spurs' arch-rivals Arsenal.
'Are we in contact with Rome? Yes, but only by phone at the moment,' said Artemov. 'What of his transfer to Spartak Moscow? Spartak, Roma, Arsenal, Zenit - anything can happen.
'The possibility of going to Italy? Again, anything can happen. When? We are not happy with his situation at Tottenham, so we will do all we can to change clubs in January.'
