Spurs on alert as Real Madrid ace Van der Vaart dismisses Ajax return

Rafael van der Vaart has played down talk of a return to Ajax although he admits his Real Madrid future remains unclear.   [LNB]Ajax boss Martin Jol confirmed he was keen on bringing Van der Vaart back to Amsterdam, where he started his career before moving on to Hamburg and then Madrid.   [LNB]The 26-year-old has been a peripheral figure at the Bernabeu, sparking talk of a January exit and has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham.[LNB] Unsettled: Van der Vaart (right) has been the subject of rumours since summer[LNB]The Holland international was close to joining Everton in the summer before opting to stay in Spain while Arsenal and Chelsea are also believed to be monitoring his situation.[LNB]And while he appears ready to consider a transfer, he is not interested in linking up with Jol's side.   [LNB]  'In principle I find it too early (to return) and I say no,' Van der Vaart told De Telegraaf newspaper.
