    Song injury relief for Gunners

    23 Apr 2010 - 07:08:28

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could welcome Alex Song back into the squad for their Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Cameroon international will undergo a fitness test ahead of the pivotal contest after suffering from an inflamed cartilage, but the Gunners will still be without a whole host of troubled stars.

Andrey Arshavin, Manuel Almunia, Denilson and William Gallas all remain on the sidelines while Johan Djourou could feature before the season comes to a close after a long-term knee problem, but there will be no return for fractured metatarsal victim Kieran Gibbs.

Speaking to Arsenal TV, Wenger said: "Maybe Song (could feature).

"He has a test tomorrow and we'll see. He is a question mark. Apart from that, nobody is back. Andrey Arshavin is out. Everyone else - Gallas, Almunia, Denilson - is still out too.

"Djourou has a little chance. But Gibbs will be very short."
