Sol knew what to expect when he joined County! Sven slams quitter Campbell

Notts County's director of football, Sven Goran-Eriksson has admitted disappointment after Sol Campbell walked out on his £10m contract but the former England boss claimed that the defender knew exactly what he was getting into when he joined. 'The reasons for him leaving, I don't know. He said he didn't like the training pitch or the changing rooms,' Eriksson said, speaking after Campbell's shock departure. 'But we showed him them before. He saw all the facilities when he walked round the club. I'm disappointed, very much so. 'We thought we would have him for a very long time.' But Eriksson declared that his project at Meadow Lane will continue despite the departure of the centre-back, and hit out at claims that progress wasn't happening fast enough. 'I'm absolutely not leaving, the project goes on without him. It's not fair at all that he has made those claims, we all know it is a long-term project. 'Since the new owners have come in we have bought seven or eight new players and we have plans for a new training ground and stadium but it all takes time.' The former England defender will also have to wait until January to play again. It has been confirmed that he will be unable to transfer his registration for at least another four months after walking out on the League Two club. Campbell has been linked with a move to Newcastle to join up with former team-mate Alan Shearer who looks set to return to St James' Park.
