Senderos wants Gunners exit
13 Jan 2010 - 09:33:51
Arsenal central defender Philippe Senderos is desperate to leave the club in search of regular first-team football.
The 24-year-old Switzerland international is concerned that a lack of opportunities could hamper his hopes of featuring at the World Cup finals in South Africa.
He told BBC Sport: "I want to go, I want and need to be playing ahead of the World Cup.
"I don't want to play in the reserves, I just want to go."
Senderos spent last season on loan at AC Milan but failed to win a permanent deal with the Rossoneri, while this term he has made just two appearances for the Gunners - both in the Carling Cup.
However, manager Arsene Wenger is seemingly unwilling to allow Senderos to move on, despite Sol Campbell being set to rejoin the club to boost their defensive options.
The Frenchman stated recently: "Philippe Senderos is not available at the moment.
"He's free at the end of the season. At the moment he is a player for Arsenal Football Club."
