Philippe Senderos can expect to be handed a lucrative long-term contract after establishing himself as a first-team regular at
Arsenal.
The 20-year-old centre-back took advantage of Sol Campbell's injury problems to force his way into the Gunners' starting line-up and a series of composed displays in the closing weeks of the campaign will see him rewarded by Arsene Wenger.
The Arsenal boss knows Senderos is being watched by a number of Europe's leading clubs and plans to send out a 'hands-off' warning by persuading the youngster to commit himself to the club until 2010.
"Philippe has been magnificent for us and we will talk about a new contract when we report back in July," Wenger told the Evening Standard.
"Hopefully, it will be sorted out before the start of the season."
The Swiss international still has three years left on his current deal, but press reports suggest he can expect a 300 per cent pay rise in return for extending his commitment to Arsenal.
