Samir Nasri on Manchester City radar as Arsenal sell stars

Manchester City are stepping up their attempts to lure Samir Nasri before the start of the season. Boss Roberto Mancini is ready to make an improved bid for the Arsenal midfielder in the coming days. On the move? Manchester City are preaparing another mega-money move to land Arsenal ace Samir Nasri City failed with a ?19million bid for the Frenchman earlier in the summer but are still hoping Arsene Wenger will sell. French newspaper L'Equipe reported on Monday that Nasri has already agreed a contract worth ?185,000-per week. Walking away: Nasri is on national duty with France ahead of their game against Chile in Montpellier Wenger does not want to lose Nasri - particularly with his captain Cesc Fabregas also set to join Barcelona - but an offer of around ?25m would tempt him to sell. Nasri is out of contract next summer and Wenger would consider selling at the right given he would be able to walk away for nothing in 12 months time. Moving on: City have already signed Gael Clichy from Arsenal this summer Wenger has already lost Gael Clichy to City in a ?7m deal and is ready to sell Nicklas Bendtner and Manuel Almunia. City are keen for further creativity after their unconvincing display in the 3-2 defeat against Manchester United in Sunday's Community Shield at Wembley. Plenty to ponder: Roberto Mancini is keen to bolster his squad ahead of the new season Despite the arrival of Sergio Aguero up front, they are too reliant on David Silva and Adam Johnson to open up opposition defences. And Mancini is determined to land Nasri to beef up options as they attempt to launch a bid for the Barclays Premier League crown, starting at home to Swansea on Monday.  CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR FREE FANTASY FOOTBALL GAMEThat's my boy!
