Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has urged his players to copy fit-again skipper Steven Gerrard and fire the Reds into the top four.[LNB]Don't tell anyone...but Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard is the last great top-flight leader according to his manager Roy Hodgson [LNB]Gerrard, who was denied a return from injury against Blackpool yesterday when the match was called off, has been hailed as the last great Premier League leader by Hodgson.[LNB]And he can hardly wait for the Anfield legend to get back on the pitch after six weeks out with a torn hamstring, during which time Liverpool have slipped nine points behind fourth place.[LNB]Hodgson believes Gerrard's presence in the team can inspire others to lift their performance by following his example.[LNB]He told Liverpool.tv: 'Steven helps all players and it is harder to find leaders in theworld of football today. You think of thegreat teams of the past and their leaders jump out at you.[LNB]'Often there were several in the same team. Danny Blanchflower and Dave Mackay at Spurs, the great Arsenal team with Adams etc.[LNB]'Today it is not so easy to pick out the leaders. We are lucky to haveone or two but what you are fighting for as a coach is to get moreleaders in your team.[LNB]'The less results you get the less leaders you have though, it's as simple as that.'[LNB] On-loan winger Pennant in talks for permanent Stoke moveBlackpool's power cuts a third match as Boxing Day clash has to be movedSir Alex targets Reina: Manchester United boss keen on Liverpool keeperHodgson warns Liverpool's fat cats to choose a career or big moneyInter turn to former Milan coach Leonardo after sacking BenitezLIVERPOOL FC
