AC Milan have completed the signing of
Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini on a four-year deal.
The 24-year-old France international has spent the last four seasons with the Gunners but had only become a first-team regular this term.
A brief statement on the Italian side's official website read: "AC Milan announces it has agreed a contract between the French player Mathieu Flamini and the Rossoneri from July 1st 2008 until June 30th 2012."
Flamini has scored eight goals in 109 starts and 44 appearances from the substitute's bench for Arsene Wenger's side.
The Gunners boss admitted after his side's 1-0 win against Everton on Sunday that he was expecting Flamini to leave, saying: "Frankly, I don't know if he will stay. But if you ask me was I overall super-confident, I would say no.
"I am not confident, but also not worried. The situation is not in my hands.
"We have done what we had to do, it is now down to him to make a decision. At some stage you have to make a decision and if he goes we have to look at our options.
"We can't wait until July. You could lose players if they come on the market. My ideal solution is that he stays, so I am not happy if he goes - but we've done everything we can."
