Rosicky eyes more goals

Arsenal's Tomas Rosicky has revealed a wager between three of the club's midfielders is driving him on to score more goals this season.

The Czech Republic international has found the net on each of his last two appearances for the Gunners and is determined to finish the season as top midfielder goalscorer ahead of team-mates Cesc Fabregas and Alex Hleb.

However, Rosicky is currently level on two goals with Hleb and two behind Fabregas, who has started the season in deadly fashion having racked up four strikes already.

"We have talked about scoring goals in midfield - me, Cesc and Alex Hleb," Rosicky told the club's official website.

"We talked about preparing a bet between us.

"I hope I can win it. It includes all competitions - Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup. When you look at those competitions last year I would have been the winner.

"It will be nice to win again but the most important thing is that we win the games. It doesn't really matter who scores."

Rosicky netted just six times last season following his arrival at the Emirates Stadium in a £6.8million move from Borussia Dortmund.
