Romelu Lukaku tells Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham: I want to play for Real Madrid
Touching distance: Lukaku is closing in on a move to the big time[LNB]Belgium teen sensation Romelu Lukaku has launched an astonishing come and get me plea to Real Madrid in an interview that will stun his English suitors.[LNB]The 17-year-old Anderlecht striker is a Chelsea fan and has long been seen at Stamford Bridge as having the potential to be the next Didier Drogba. It has been claimed they tried to sign him as a 13-year-old.[LNB]Arsenal and Tottenham are also keen on the 6ft 3in bustling target man, but his gushing praise of Real, their coach Jose Mourinho and star player Cristiano Ronaldo will leave them in no doubt where he wants to play next season.[LNB]Lukaku has refused to move while he matures and finishes his school studies in Belgium, though a move at the end of the season seems inevitable.[LNB]'We'll see in June, but for now I don't want to hear about it,' he said. 'I feel happy at Anderlecht.[LNB]'But I am ready for the big jump when the time comes. I am very ambitious. I will then do everything to convince people that I was worth so much money.'[LNB]Anderlecht are expected to demand at least £15million for their No 14. Mourinho is looking for a physical centre forward, though his first choice is Athletic Bilbao's Fernando Llorente - and a move for Lukaku may hinge on either missing out on the Spaniard or Karim Benzema's exit from the Bernabeu.[LNB]But Lukaku told Madrid newspaper Marca: 'Of course, it's a dream to play at the Bernabeu. It's a top stadium. [LNB]'That Jose Mourinho is the coach of Real Madrid is an extra motivation. For a coach like Mourinho, I'd want to learn as much as I possibly can.'[LNB] He's got the power! Lukaku may only be 17, but the striker has an imposing physical frame[LNB]Asked whether he preferred Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, he of course went for the Madrid idol and also called Real a 'spectacular' club.[LNB]Lukaku was photographed in a Chelsea shirt in the summer and enjoyed a tour of Stamford Bridge, but asked if his love of the Londoners put them in pole position for his signature, he admitted: 'Not necessarily.[LNB]'I'm not obliged to sign for the Blues. There are other big clubs in Europe. I want to aim as high as possible.[LNB]'I wouldn't immediately be a starter in a top club. I will have to prove myself and show everyone that I can reach that level.[LNB]'Being young doesn't prevent me from being very ambitious. After my apprenticeship I would become one of the key players in the team.[LNB]'I love English, Spanish and German football. Italy is also a major championship, but it requires more experience.
