Robin - Get rid now...

... it's the only realistic option.

So Robin van Persie refuses to sign a new contract - I say the only option, from both football and business points of view is send him to market at the earliest possible opportunity.

The club say: "

We have to respect Robin's decision not to renew his contract. Robin has one year to run on his current contract and we are confident that he will fulfil his commitments to the Club. We are planning with ambition and confidence for next season with Arsenal's best interests in mind."

It's a great shame of course, because when he's fit he's world class, and no club wouldn't want him leading the line for them, but at Arsenal we have a laudable tradition of selling players who don't want to play for the team.

If we retain his services for his final season it'll be counter productive to say the least. The problem is that his market value will now have tumbled dramatically.

It's a great shame of course and I've no doubt that he'll regret his decision, but his head has been turned and that's that.

Time to move on.
