Reyes set to stay

Arsene Wenger has told Jose Antonio Reyes he will have to remain at the Emirates Stadium unless Real Madrid agree to match Arsenal's asking price.

The Spain forward is desperate to return to his homeland after struggling to settle in London, but Madrid's £8.5million offer has been rejected and they have shown no sign of coming back with an improved bid.

Wenger said: "There is no deal with Madrid, I can assure you. His agent flies 2,000 feet in the air but he must come down to earth again.

"If you tell me there is a deal with Real Madrid, I tell you there will be no deal with Real Madrid. Nobody else has come in.

"At the end of the day, you need something concrete. If you say 'I like a player but sorry I have no money', stay at home."
