Rennes: MVila stays with us

Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi insists reported Arsenal target Yann M'Vila will stay at the Ligue 1 club for this season at least. Following the sale of Cesc Fabregas, the expected departure of Samir Nasri and a slow start to the season, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been linked with a host of players as he bids to strengthen his squad ahead of the transfer deadline. One of those players is 21-year-old defensive midfielder M'Vila, who is already an established French international. However, Dreossi claims he has no knowledge of any approach from the Gunners about M'Vila, who recently signed a contract extension until 2015, and believes he will be staying in Ligue 1. "I don't know anything [about an Arsenal bid]. Yann has extended his contract with us so a departure is not topical," Dreossi told L'Equipe. "He has started the season with us and he will finish it with us. That is very clear."
