Real Madrid have warned that they will not pay over the odds to land Arsenal's Spanish forward Jose Antonio Reyes, with Lyon midfielder Mahamadou Diarra their main target.
Reyes is keen to return to Spain due to family problems, but Real president Ramon Calderon admits that no agreement has been reached for a deal, with Bernabeu coach Fabio Capello focused more on securing the services of Diarra.
Calderon told the club's official website: "Reyes will only come if Arsenal agree to our terms.
"I'm not going to pay one euro more. I'm sorry for the kid if the deal doesn't go through, but we don't have any agreement to sign Reyes.
"Arsenal have the last word and according to Capello, the push is for Diarra."
Reyes joined the Gunners in January 2004 from Sevilla and has scored 23 goals in 110 appearances for Arsene Wenger's side.
