Mexican striker Carlos Vela would like to stay at Real Sociedad permanently after this season.

With the two goals he scored against Espanyol Vela, who is on loan from Arsenal, has scored a total of 9 goals for Real and is currently joint top goal scorer for Real Sociedad alongside Agirretxe.

According to Mexican and Spanish papers, Real Sociedad are willing to do anything they can to keep the Mexican striker next season. Vela is under contract with Arsenal until June 2013, and the Spanish club would have to pay between 4 and 5 million Euros for his services.

Mundo Deportivo says Real are keen to close this deal sooner rather than later.

Vela, regarding his future said: "I have thought about it. There's still time, and you never know what can happen." For now he is just trying to enjoy his stay at the Basque club "I'm trying to be as good as possible, and I'm enjoying every moment in San Sebastian, because I don't know if I'm going to continue here. Because of this, for now I'm only thinking about getting the most out of my time here, and then we will see if I can continue here".

If the Mexican striker keeps this goal streak up, no doubt the 23 year old will be called up to play for Mexico in the London 2012 Olympics in the summer.
