Arsenal's teenage midfielder Aaron Ramsey has signed a new long-term contract extension with the Gunners.

The 18-year-old Wales international made 22 appearances in his first season in north London, having moved to the capital from Cardiff City and scored his first goal for the club in the 5-2 Champions League win over Fenerbahce.

Arsene Wenger told his club's official website: "We're delighted that Aaron has signed a new long-term contract.

"He made a very good contribution in his first season and he showed that he is a very intelligent player with great quality.

"He is still only 18 and we're really looking forward to seeing him develop with us in the forthcoming years."

Ramsey has already won six senior caps for Wales, having made his debut in November last year against Denmark.
