Premier League 2014/15 club preview: Arsenal

So after all those years in the trophy wilderness, Arsenal finally have something to shout about….or at the least speak loudly. How can they improve? Who do they need to sign? Do they need to sign anyone?

Last season, in Arsenal’s defence, they boasted the worst injury list in the premier league. Granted they managed to secure the signing of Ozil, but he seemed to suffer from the rigours of the league. He is a magnificent player and (World Cup allowing) should he maintain fitness, I feel a better season ahead for the German star.

With many of their starlets having proved their loyalty to the cause by signing long term contracts, do they need anyone? Is the buzz of a cup combined with less time on the treatment table what the Gunners need?

Personally, I think they do need a new Henry and have done since, well, when Henry left (the first time!). A clinical finisher to make the most of one of the strongest midfields in the Premier League wouldn’t go amiss.

Linked with:

Mathieu Valbuena, Mario Balotelli, Antoine Griezmann. Serge Aurier, Mario Mandzukic

So Who?

If you believe what you read, Wenger apparently has been a long-time fan of Balotelli and enjoyed a good relationship with him. He seems to have calmed down a bit since sorting his personal life out and appears to have grown tired of the alleged abuse in Italy. Personally, I would love to see someone of Balotelli’s calibre back in our top flight and although he is as mad as a box of frogs, under the tutelage of Arsene, he could be that missing spark the club and fans crave.
