Ladies and gentlemen, we're approaching that time of year again - the madness of the transfer window. The true scramble for signings will start after the FA Cup final at the end of the month but the first moves are already being made with clubs cutting their cloth. A number of leading Barclays Premier League and Championship players have been released with their contracts up - and many more will follow. Sportsmail will keep you bang up to date with all the latest leavers as we approach transfer season. BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE ARSENAL GONE: None GOING: Arsene Wenger may feel is time for a change. Emmanuel Adebayor, Emmanuel Eboue, Nicklas Bendtner and William Gallas are all under threat. ASTON VILLA GONE: None GOING: John Carew could decide it's time for another club, while Gareth Barry may again be a target for Liverpool. Fringe players Nicky Shorey, Steve Sidwell and Marlon Harewood will be assessing their futures. BIRMINGHAM CITY GONE: Radhi Jaidi, Mehdi Nafti GOING: Alex McLeish has a glut of average strikers, so expect Marcus Bent and Gary McSheffrey to move on. Kevin Phillips may feel another shot at the Premier League is beyond him. BLACKBURN GONE: Tugay, Andre Ooijer GOING: Roque Santa Cruz is on his way out of Ewood Park, with Tottenham and Manchester City watching. Aaron Mokoena is expected to follow Andre Ooijer (who is joining PSV Eindoven) out the door, while Matt Derbyshire will contemplate his future after a successful loan spell with Olympiakos. BOLTON GONE: None GOING: Gary Cahill may fancy stepping up to a bigger club, while Matt Taylor and Kevin Davies are admired by rival clubs. CHELSEA GONE: Mineiro GOING: Where to start? Deco has failed to impress, Didier Drogba is entering the final year of his contract and Jose Mourinho wants John Mikel Obi at Inter Milan, where on-loan Ricardo Quaresma will return. Others are under threat. EVERTON GONE: Andy van der Meyde GOING: David Moyes is desperate to hold on to his prize assets but may move on fringe players such as Victor Anichebe and Nuno Valente. FULHAM GONE: None GOING: Expect a summer clear-out at Craven Cottage, with a batch a well-paid players currently out on loan. Roy Hodgson must convince Mark Schwarzer and Brede Hangeland to stay. HULL CITY GONE: Dean Windass GOING: It all depends on survival. If they go down, Phil Brown will have to chop down the numbers in his squad. LIVERPOOL GONE: Sami Hyypia GOING: Rafa Benitez has plenty of dead wood to strip out of his squad as he prepares for another title tilt. Ryan Babel and Jermaine Pennant will be high-profile casualties. MANCHESTER CITY GONE: None GOING: Plenty of Sven Goran Eriksson's old favourites are still lingering but the time will be up for Darius Vassell, Javier Garrido, Gelson Fernandes and Benjani. Joe Hart needs first-team football - and don't be surprised to see Robinho prised away after one season. MANCHESTER UNITED GONE: None GOING: United are refusing to pay the agreed fee for Carlos Tevez, with Liverpool and Manchester City waiting in the wings. Ben Foster must decide whether to move on ahead of next year's World Cup. MIDDLESBROUGH GONE: None GOING: Stewart Downing has played his last game for the club and with Boro's likely relegation, he will not be the only one. Afonso Alves, Tuncay and Robert Huth won't fancy Championship football. NEWCASTLE GONE: None GOING: Michael Owen and Mark Viduka are unlikely to sign new contracts. And relegation would bring many more casualties, including £10million flop Fabricio Coloccini. PORTSMOUTH GONE: None GOING: Cuts need to be made at Fratton Park and star men Peter Crouch, Glen Johnson and Niko Kranjcar could head queue to the exit. Paul Hart would struggle to raise funds for his fringe players. STOKE GONE: None GOING: Tony Pulis will be desperate to keep the majority of his survival heroes, although he may have to fend off bids for James Beattie and Liam Lawrence. SUNDERLAND GONE: None GOING: With safety almost assured, the pressure is easing on the Black Cats. With on-loan Djibril Cisse set to leave, the fight to hold on to striker Kenwyne Jones will become a priority. TOTTENHAM GONE: None GOING: Harry Redknapp has threatened to swing the axe on David Bentley and Roman Pavlyuchenko. Tom Huddlestone, Darren Bent and Gareth Bale are not safe either, while flops such as Gilberto and Ricardo Rocho will go. WEST HAM GONE: None GOING: Gianfranco Zola has wisely handed contracts to his big stars, so veterans Lucas Neill, Lee Bowyer, Luis Boa Morte and Nigel Quashie may be sacrificed. Diego Tristan and Walter Lopez are waiting on new contracts. WIGAN GONE: None GOING: Antonia Valencia is definitely off - to either Manchester United or Real Madrid. Steve Bruce will be reluctant to lose any others, including highly-rated Paul Scharner. WOLVES GONE: Lewis Gobern GOING: Mick McCarthy cannot afford to lose his prize assets. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Michael Kightly could attract enquiries from the bog boys. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RELEASED CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYERS BARNSLEY None BLACKPOOL None BRISTOL CITY David Noble, Jennison Myrie-Williams BURNLEY None CARDIFF CITY Darren Purse COVENTRY CITY None CRYSTAL PALACE Paul Ifill, John Oster, James Scowcroft, Scott Flinders, Carl Fletcher DERBY COUNTY Andy Todd DONCASTER ROVERS Gordon Greer IPSWICH TOWN Matt Richards, Ivan Campo, Tommy Miller, Billy Clarke, Dean Bowditch, Chris Casement LEICESTER None NOTTINGHAM FOREST None PETERBOROUGH UNITED None PLYMOUTH ARGYLE None PRESTON NORTH END None QPR Liam Miller, Zesh Rehman, Jake Cole READING Graeme Murty, Marcus Hahnemann, Michael Duberry, Leroy Lita, Alan Bennett SHEFFIELD UNITED None SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY Wade Small, Kenny Lunt, Steve Watson SWANSEA CITY Dennis Lawrence WATFORD Mart Poom, Steve Kabba WEST BROMWICH ALBION None
