PICTURE SPECIAL: Will Arsenal's new kit be a nod to 125 years of glory?

Arsenal will hope they have some shiny new trophies to match it, but even if they don't, you can be sure the fans will be delighted with this proposed retro home kit for next season. The Gunners are celebrating 125 silverware-laden years in 2010-11 and pictures have appeared on blogs showing what purports to a new home strip representing their wonderful history in some style. The absence of a sponsor from the middle of the strip is perhaps the most glaring symbol of times past, with a discreet logo instead sitting under the club crest. A modern classic: The apparent new Arsenal kit celebrates their glorious past The traditional shirt maintains the all red body but is a return to the white sleeves of old, something neglected in the current Arsenal home kit, a move which had upset some fans. Supporters have flocked to buy commemorative kits in recent years, starting with the redcurrant strip used in the club's final year at Highbury and followed by a dedicated white outfit in memory of legendary manager Herbert Chapman. Spot the difference: A recent Arsenal home kit is someway from the proposed new strip Last season the club celebrated the 20th anniversary of their dramatic title triumph at Anfield - when Mickey Thomas scored a late second goal to steal the trophy from under Liverpool's nose - with a similar yellow and blue strip worn that famous night on Merseyside. The Emirates faithful will be hoping this latest throwback will bring similarly exciting nights.   Arshavin reveals London is driving him mad... Arsenal star in car crashChampions League?
