PICTURE SPECIAL: Midnight blue is the colour for Arsenal

From the club that brought you a redcurrant commemorative kit, comes Arsenal's latest foray into fashion with the unveiling of the club's new away strip. Sportsmail has acquired snaps of the pinstriped midnight blue number before its release on Thursday, with shorts and socks - with Arsenal printed on the calf, no less - matching the polo necked shirt. Theo Walcott, pictured below modelling the range, remarked: 'The new kit is a goodcolour, and it's nice to have a contrast with the red home kit.' Hot on the heels of the news that Arsene Wenger will stay at the Emirates, 20-year-old Walcott hopes the new clobber brings the club - trophyless for four seasons - a reversal in fortunes. 'Next season will be a really good opportunity to build on the good results of this campaign and the learning points as well, while we haven't won the trophies everyone associated with the club would want, there have been loads of positives to take forward and build on. I'm really looking forward to getting started again and feel good about the players we have to challenge for honours,' he said. Red alert: Walcott in Arsenal's home kit, which the Gunners will continue to wear until the end of next season Yellow carded: Arsenal's current away shirt Gooners will be able to purchase the new kit from June 25 - for details visit www.arsenal.com.
