Manchester United stamped their authority on the Barclays Premier League on Monday night as they moved two points clear at the top with a 1-0 victory over rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford. [LNB]A first-half goal from South Korean Park Ji-sung secured the win and United could even afford a missed penalty from Wayne Rooney as they stretched their unbeaten league run this season to 16 games. [LNB] Lucky 13: Park Ji-sung celebrates his first-half winner against Arsenal[LNB]Afterwards Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger blamed what he claimed was a bad playing surface for the defeat and insisted the Gunners can still win the league even though their failure to perform in the big games has seen them fail to beat United or Chelsea in their last 11 attempts. [LNB]He became aggressive with reporters who questioned his team. He snapped at one: 'You are a football analyst, I will leave this analysis to you, why do you ask me when you know everything? [LNB]Grounds for complaint: A familiar sight as Arsene Wenger protests on the sidelines[LNB]'I have to be calm and realistic and objective. United won this game but you don't have to make big conclusions.' [LNB]United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, however, was merely happy to see his team at the top of the table with a game in hand ahead of Sunday's match at Chelsea. He said: 'Our form is improving and we have a tough game this Sunday that is most important now. [LNB]'We have to play well in these big games, we have to perform. We did that tonight, especially in the first half. [LNB]'It was an unusual penalty for Wayne to miss and that gave Arsenal impetus. But the back four were fantastic, absolutely magnificent.' [LNB]In a game of few chances, Park's header in the first half presented Arsenal with a mountain to climb. Wenger added: 'We gave everything and the game was very intense. [LNB]'Both teams were very well organised and the intensity was very high on a very bad pitch. The technical quality suffered because of that.[LNB] 'From what I have seen tonight there's no reason not to believe. We know we can create more than this offensively.'[LNB] Man United 1 Arsenal 0: Park swings it as Fergie's men go topMartin Samuel: Old Trafford defeat proves Arsenal's familiar failings still dog Arsene WengerIan Ladyman: Jack the lad holds his own in man's game at Old TraffordManchester United 1 Arsenal 0 - the action from Old Trafford as it happenedMANCHESTER UNITED FC
