Nicklas Bendtner set for Arsenal return

Nicklas Bendtner could be on que for a shock return to Arsenal this January – due to falling out with Juventus officials over playing time and his weight issues – just weeks after joining the Italian giants, according to The Mirror.

Although he has not featured for Arsenal in the league since May 2011 – the Dane could be in for a return to Arsenal after struggling to get regular game time for Juve. Juventus have signed Bendtner on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy next summer – although so far on this season's proceedings it looks unlikely Bendnter will be in Turin after January let alone May.

Bendtner, 24, has made just one league appearance for Juventus this season as a substitute– recently criticized Arsenal's training compared to his new surroundings.

Bendner said: “At Juventus, the training has been different to - and much harder than - anything I've done before.”

However, due to the lack of playing time in Turin; speculation has increased and Bendtner is in line for a shock return to Arsenal.

Tom Brooks, Bendnters agent, told The Mirror; “Why isnt he playing? In all honesty, you'd have to ask Antonio Conte – He is too strng a player to stay on the bench, its not good for him or Juventus to keep him there. If it continues like this, we will consider our options. Could have be from January? We'll talk about it over the next few weeks.”

Bendtner is currently under contract with Arsenal until 2014 – with Juve having the option to sign the forward at the end of the season – Arsenal may be keen to ensure the big Dane remains in Turin - if they are keen to get rid off him.

However, with just one recognized striker at the club under the name of Olivier Giroud – who is failing to live up to the hype. Wenger may welcome back Bendnter with open arms as his side is desperate for goals.
