New dad Wayne Rooney proves a born leader for England in Qatar

First a father, then captain of England. November is turning into quite a month for Wayne Rooney, although that did not stop John Terry poking fun at his biceps. 'We had to make it a little bit smaller,' grinned injured skipper Terry, when asked how he thought the armband had suited the stand-in captain. Rooney's muscle, unlike his temperament, is rarely questioned. Only a few months ago, his manager at Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, confessed that the striker was 'not ready' for such responsibilities as captaincy but the 24-year-old seemed to take it in his stride.
