Arsenal star Samir Nasri will reportedly not be joining Manchester City after the deal fell through during the late stages of talks. The France international playmaker looked all set to make a £22million switch to the Etihad Stadium when everything was reportedly agreed late on Thursday evening. However, when Nasri failed to make the move on Friday, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger opted to name Nasri in his starting XI in Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium. And fresh reports, which originally emanated from French TV channel Canal+, claim that the deal will not happen and Nasri is now set to stay put at Arsenal this season and will see out the remainder of his contract. When Wenger was asked if Nasri would be leaving for City he said: "I don't know [what will happen]. I always said that I would try to keep Samir Nasri and I have never changed my mind on it because I played him today, to the surprise of everybody."He loves the Club, he wants to play for us, if we decide to sell him we will do it and we have to stand up for it. At the moment I am happy he is here. I don't know if he will play on Wednesday [against Udinese], we will just play the game."
