Samir Nasri has hit back at Arsenal's critics, claiming they are improving and have the quality to go for the Premier League title next season.[LNB] Arsenal have seen their title challenge fade in the last few weeks, and a victory for Fulham at Emirates Stadium tomorrow could even see Tottenham beat them to third spot.[LNB]However Nasri believes the Gunners do not get the credit they deserve following what will be a fifth campaign without silverware.[LNB]"We have done better than last year, as we were in the running for the title until the defeats at Tottenham and Wigan," he said.[LNB]"We have made progress and shown more maturity in our play, and I really hope we can go for the title next season, because we have got the quality you need.[LNB]"We are getting there gradually and we can compete for the top prizes."[LNB]Nasri continued: "Without the injuries, we would have done well.[LNB]"We have got quality, international players, and if you take the injuries away, we can compete at the top.[LNB]"With a full squad we would have gone closer in the league, so you have to take that into account.[LNB]"Hopefully next season without the injuries, we can compete domestically and in Europe with a good side.[LNB]"I do not think there is any need to buy, just keep what we have got, take away the injuries and we will be fine."[LNB]The arrival of Marouane Chamakh is set to be officially confirmed as a free transfer, worth a reported £50,000 a week, once the Morocco striker's contract with Bordeaux expires.[LNB]Nasri believes Wenger's policy of adding quality to the promise of youth can deliver.[LNB]"I am not kidding myself regarding recruitment - Arsenal are not a Chelsea, who buy players to such an extent," he said.[LNB]"Arsenal concentrate more on taking young players to develop into a team."[LNB]The 22-year-old is hoping to be part of France's World Cup squad, and believes Emirates Stadium is the best place for his continued development.[LNB]"I am happy to be here and want to stay. There is no need to go elsewhere, I am 22 and do not want to leave," Nasri declared.[LNB]"I am at a big European club, who are a real player in the Premier League and in Europe, with a manager who is one of the best in the world, and with great players to.[LNB]"There really is no need to move on or to look elsewhere."[LNB]Meanwhile Nasri has promised Gunners fans they will see the best of him next season after a frustrating campaign which began with a broken leg suffered during a summer training camp in Austria.[LNB]"I have been a bit frustrated after missing the first few months when I broke my leg, and really it is only the last couple of months where I have felt better physically," Nasri told Arsenal TV Online.[LNB]"Now I hope to end the season well with the last game against Fulham and then get myself ready for next season because I really want to have a good one for Arsenal.[LNB]"After the first season, I wanted to kick on and do well, but unfortunately I got the injury which hampered my progress in adapting to English football.[LNB]"But I have come back ready for the next season and now I really hope all will go well for me."
