Muamba makes Blues move

Birmingham City have completed the permanent signing of Arsenal's teenage midfielder Fabrice Muamba on a three-year deal.

The 19-year-old has spent this season on loan at St Andrew's and played in 41 games in all competitions as the Blues made an immediate return to the Premiership.

Muamba told City's official website: "To be honest, the fans were probably the key reasons for the move.

"I learnt in my first season about the ups and downs, dealing with being in the team, and dealing with not being in the team.

"All these things I had to put into perspective, so I had to learn to deal with many different things.

"I'm just looking forward to the challenge of the Premiership. I'm going to put myself about and I'll learn about different things as I go along.

"Everybody needs to keep working hard over the summer and hopefully I will continue to improve and get better.

"I want to play as many games as I can next season and improve as a player and for Blues to stay up in the Premier League.

"You never know what will happen because football can throw up surprises, but we're going to go there and give it our best shot and the rest will be history, really."
