Mowbray wants some fortune

Tony Mowbray is hoping Celtic enjoy some good fortune of their own in the second leg of their Champions League play-off against Arsenal after bad luck cost them two goals in their first-leg defeat at Parkhead. The Hoops were holding their own against the talented Premier League side until two minutes from half-time when Cesc Fabregas' drive from 30 yards took a wicked deflection off William Gallas' back to put the visitors ahead. The Gunners stretched out after the break and all but sealed their place in the group stages in the 71st minute when Celtic skipper Gary Caldwell put the ball past Hoops keeper Artur Boruc in his attempt to cut out a Gael Clichy cross. Mowbray recognises the enormity of the task ahead of Celtic in London but he insists his side will go looking for the first goal to give them a chance. And the Celtic boss is not concerned how that opener might come about. "Let's not disguise the fact that it is a big ask for us," Mowbray said. "The secret is to score the first goal and be positive and if we do that it will be interesting to see what their mentality is and how their team and supporters react. "You would think that they would think the job is automatically done but we have to be positive, score the first goal and see how the game unfolds. If we score the first goal it makes them edgy and nervous. Hopefully somebody hits a free-kick from 25 yards and it hits one of them on the back and goes in the bottom corner."
