Riccardo Montolivo's agent has denied reports Arsenal are in "official negotations" with Fiorentina over the signing of the Italy midfielder.[LNB] The Gunners have been linked with a move for the 25-year-old as a possible replacement for Cesc Fabregas, who is wanted by Barcelona.[LNB]Montolivo was one of a few Azzurri players to impress at the World Cup and his agent Giovanni Branchini claims there are a number of clubs watching his client.[LNB]Branchini is not surprised Arsenal have been linked with Montolivo, but he has quashed speculation the north Londoners have already held talks with the Viola.[LNB]"It's not ridiculous that Arsenal are looking at Montolivo," he told Violanews.com.[LNB]"In fact there is very strong interest from clubs more famous than Arsenal.[LNB]"One thing I will say and that is official negotiations are not ongoing.[LNB]"A good World Cup has increased interest in Montolivo, but to say that we are close to reaching an agreement is absurd."
