Arsenal midfielder Fran Merida has revealed he rejected an opportunity to go out on loan this summer. The 19-year-old was believed to be a target for Spanish Second Division side Levante, but he opted to remain with the Gunners to try and force his way into the first team. "I am 100% staying. It is true that I had an option to go out on loan but me, the boss, my agent and my family decided that the best thing for me is to stay," Merida told the club's official website. "The boss told me he believes in me and the only thing I can do now is to prove it on the pitch and repay the faith."
