Merida happy to stay

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Fran Merida has vowed to repay the faith shown in him by Arsene Wenger after deciding against a loan move to Levante.[LNB] The Spanish midfielder has been regarded as an exciting prospect for the future since he joined Arsenal from Barcelona's academy in 2005.[LNB]He has gained experience during a loan spell with Real Sociedad and had the opportunity to go to Levante on another temporary deal over the summer.[LNB]The move was expected to go ahead but Merida opted to stay at Emirates Stadium after holding talks with Wenger and he is now looking to make an impact for the Gunners.[LNB]Having turned 19, Merida believes it is time for him to play more regularly and help the club claim some silverware.[LNB]"I am 100 per cent staying," Merida told Arsenal's official website. "It is true that I had an option to go out on loan but I, the boss, my agent and my family decided that the best thing for me is to stay here.[LNB]"The boss told me he believes in me, and the only thing I can do now is prove it on the pitch and repay that faith.[LNB]"My target is to help as much as possible to get trophies. I truly believe we have a fantastic chance.[LNB]"We have started well; we must keep that going, because we haven't done anything yet."[LNB]
