The Premier League is back after the international break, where many teams were successful in qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil next summer.
The Gunners take on Norwich this weekend, who have had a down season thus far, going in to the 8th game of the campaign. The Canaries find themselves in the relegation zone with 7 points overall and a 2-1-4 record.
The Gunners are atop the Premier League table and have remained unbeaten since their opening weekend loss against Aston Villa. Superb goal scoring from Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud have helped Arsenal reach a 5-1-1 record and 16 points (ahead of Liverpool by GD).
Here are this week’s “Players to Watch”:
Robert Snodgrass: The 26 year old Scottish midfielder is playing well for the club, with three assists in all competitions so far this season. In his 2nd season with Norwich, Snodgrass is trying to continue his great success with the club after finishing last season runner-up for the Player of the Season award.
Anthony Pilkington: Pilkington, the 25 year old Irishman, joined Norwich during the summer of 2011 and has had a good run with the club since his signing. He contributed 8 goals last season, all which helped Norwich gain crucial points. So far this season, he has two goals in all competitions and is looking to add to his goal tally against Arsenal this weekend.
Aaron Ramsey: Aaron Ramsey has had an unbelievable start to his 2013-2014 campaign with Arsenal. He has scored 8 goals in all competitions this season, not including the goal he scored for Wales against Belgium during the international break. Watch for Welsh captain to be challenging the Norwich keeper on Saturday.
Mesut Ozil: Mesut Ozil, who was transferred to Arsenal from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window, took a knock against Sweden during the international break, where he scored one and assisted one (the game ended 5-3 Germany). Gunner fans can only hope he’ll be match fit for Saturday.
