Martin Keown's insight: Lewis Holtby reminds me McEachran and Wilshere

Lewis Holtby reminds me a lot of Chelsea's Josh McEachran and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere - he loves a free run of the midfield and looks for pockets of space. [LNB]He has fantastic vision and a sweet left foot, though he can use his right as well. He mainly plays out on the right and cuts in with his left, but I've seen him cross with his right. You wouldn't have known it was his weaker side.[LNB]He is a strong dribbler with close control and can go past defenders. I've watched footage of him for Sportsmail and it seems very tough to get the ball off him.[LNB]Now read Michael Walker's appraisal of the talented Mainz midfielder Bright future: Martin Keown was very impressed with Lewis Holtby[LNB]Add in the fact that he can score goals and shoot from distance, and it looks like a real loss from England's point of view. He certainly appears good enough for international football. [LNB]He has lots of potential, and I like his personality and big, toothy grin.[LNB]My only reservation is that he is given a lot of space in the Bundesliga to pull the strings and that might not be the case at international level. We will see. Sadly, probably not in England's colours. [LNB] England's future: Sir Trevor Brooking tells top clubs... give our kids a chance!Lewis Holtby: How did England miss a boy with the Midas touch?MARTIN SAMUEL: It's good to talk, Fabio (especially when your players really need it)FA set to miss out on Lewis Holtby, the Germany U21 captain who still qualifies for England[LNB]
