Manchester City eye 40m Sevilla star Perotti to fill hole left by Robinho

Pointing the way: Diego Perotti Manchester City are tracking Sevilla star Diego Perotti as a potential replacement for Robinho, according to sources in Spain. The 21-year-old has been a revelation in La Liga this season, impressing as a two-footed left winger and breaking into the Argentina side. Sevilla handed Perotti a new contract to 2015 before the winter transfer window,  increasing his buyout clause to more than £40million in an attempt to see off reported interest from City, Arsenal and Real Madrid. However, that has not deterred City, who have continued to track the starlet and are preparing to make a move at the end of the season, according to well-connected radio station Cadena Ser. Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido insists Perotti is not for sale and the player's agent said: 'Diego has just renewed his contract. 'It is true that he is doing well and caused a sensation, but his aim is to stay at Sevilla for at least another year. He doesn't want to leave this summer.'
