Wolfsburg have told Juventus they are not interested in a part-exchange bid for Edin Dzeko.[LNB]In demand: Dzeko (left) has been deadly for Wolves[LNB]Manchester City's straight-cash offer for the Bosnia and Herzegovina striker would be much more attractive to Steve McClaren's side if they finally succumb to the interest in their star striker.[LNB]However, Wolfsburg will have to significantly drop their £50million demands for a player who Roberto Mancini last week confirmed he was interested in signing.[LNB]Dzeko wants to make the step up, especially after Wolfsburg's failure to qualify for European football this season, and would welcome a move to England or Italy.[LNB]Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has confirmed he is working hard to sign Dzeko ahead of City.[LNB]However, reports in Italy say plans to offer £25million plus Brazil playmaker Diego have been rebuffed. Diego impressed in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen but has struggled in Turin. [LNB]Former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko has also mooted as a candidate for the part-exchange deal, but Wolfsburg chairman Dieter Hoeness apparently told Marotta that they would only consider a cash deal.[LNB]The Juve chief has not given up but insists he will not pay over the odds.[LNB][LNB]Turning his back: Dzeko is ready to leave the Bundesliga for bigger things[LNB]'Dzeko? It's the dream that I'm working on,' said Marotta. 'He is one of the best strikers in the world and clearly he is an object of our desire. [LNB]'It's true that we are negotiating and I have spoken to them (Wolfsburg) but they are asking for a lot and we are trying to follow the cheaper option. [LNB]'They like some of our players but we know that what you buy is not always better than what you sell.[LNB]'We will be rational. In today's transfer market you cannot go mad financially.'[LNB]The lose of the battle to sign Dzeko could end up with CSKA Moscow winger Milos Krasic.[LNB]Red marauder: CSKA Moscow winger Krasic thought he was going to Juventus[LNB]New rules on the recruitment of non-EU players in Italy mean Juve can only realistically sign either Dzeko or the Serbia international - theirother major target - this summer.[LNB]Krasic has previously been cool on City and was convinced he would join Juve in £12.5m deal before the weekend, but has now returned to CSKA and appeared as a substitute against Saturn at the weekend.[LNB]As well as the bid from Juve, Krasic said: 'As far as I know, there has been interest from Manchester City and a concrete offer from Fenerbahce. But with all respect to the Turkish club, it's not worth leaving CSKA for them.[LNB]'Manchester City are an interesting option. They are a fast-growing club with big ambitions.'[LNB]Krasic has also interested Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, but only City have the resources to meet CSKA's increased £15m asking price.[LNB] Man City target Dzeko pleads with Wolfsburg to lower £50m price tagSociedad get Real and admit they've got no chance of signing City flop JoManchester City block Fulham's approach for England keeper HartTHE INSIDER: Krasic considers City after running out of optionsMANCHESTER CITY FC
