Lionel Messi reveals he'd love Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas to join him at Barcelona

Lionel Messi is the latest Barcelona star to reveal he wants Cesc Fabregas to move to the Nou Camp. Fabregas has told Arsene Wenger he wants to join the Spanish champions but the Arsenal boss is desperate to keep hold of his talismanic captain rejecting Barca's £29million bid earlier this month. On his way? Lionel Messi has urged Cesc Fabregas to move to Barcelona Messi starred alongside Farbegas in Barcelona's youth team and says it would be 'special' to play with him under coach Pep Guardiola. Speaking to Spanish newspaper Sport, the Argentinean ace said: ' I would love to play with Cesc, because we have shared many things together in time, we agree on the basis of Barca football. Former team-mates: Messi played alongside the Arsenal skipper for Barca's youth team 'It would be nice to meet with Cesc on the same team, just as happened to me with (Gerard) Pique when he returned from his time at Manchester United. 'No one imagined that one day we could be together in the Barcelona first team, especially when Cesc and Pique went. Getting together would be special.' Fabregas is currently on World Cup duty with Spain and was an unused substitute in the European champions' surprise defeat to Switzerland on Wednesday. In the thick of it: Cesc would join Spanish team-mates Pique and Puyol if he moved to the Nou Camp Yesterday Barcelona's president-elect has reportedly set a £37.5m limit on what his club are prepared to pay for Fabregas this summer. Sandro Rosell, who will formally take over from Joan Laporta on July 1, had already revealed he would continue the pursuit of Arsenal's captain if coach Guardiola was fully behind the deal. However, after being briefed by Laporta on the prickly negotiations, sources in Catalonia say Rosell is refusing to guarantee a deal will be done and has set aside less than £10m more than the £29m initial bid already rejected by the Gunners.  Cesc is not worth more than £37.5m - Barca stand firm over Arsenal captainCampbell hits out at England boss Capello for killing World Cup dreamArsenal's Premier League fixtures 2010-11ARSENAL FC
