Kyle Bartley confident he made right choice in leaving Arsenal for Swansea

Kyle Bartley insists he has no regrets at having left Arsenal for Swansea in a £1million deal over the summer.

Bartley took the decision to leave The Emirates after finding first-team football almost impossible to come by. Time spent out on loan, most notably at Rangers, gave him a taste of what it is like to play week in, week out and the 21-year-old decided the time was right to take on a new challenge. Things have not gone entirely to plan for him at Swansea, but Bartley believes, given time, that his decision to leave Arsenal for South Wales will be justified. Ahead of an FA Cup third round replay against his former employers on Wednesday, Bartley said:

"I've no regrets over leaving Arsenal because I believe everything happens for a reason.

"I still had a couple of years left on my contract and if I wanted to stay, the option was there for me. But I wanted to go somewhere where I was more capable of playing games.

"My thigh injury hampered that earlier this season, but I want to kick on from here.

"I don't think I've anything to prove to Arsene (Wenger). He knows what I'm capable of and the type of player I am. Unfortunately, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time."
