Kranjcar passes medical ahead of £2m Spurs switch as Harry eyes bargain

Replacement: Niko Kranjcar could ease Tottenham's midfield worries after Luka Modric's injury[LNB]Harry Redknapp has expressed his delight as the Tottenham boss closed in on Portsmouth's Niko Kranjcar in what could prove to be the bargain signing of the summer transfer window.[LNB]Redknapp is set to complete a deal for just £2million after the player passed a medical on Tuesday morning.[LNB]All that remains is for Kranjcar to complete the formalities before the cut-price transfer is finalised.[LNB]Spurs desperately need a creative midfielder who can play on the left side after star playmaker Luka Modric suffered a fractured leg in the win over Birmingham City on Saturday. [LNB]He has been ruled out for at least six weeks and Modric's Croatia team-mate Kranjcar would fit the bill as a ready-made replacement. [LNB]The move would be something of a coup as the 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Tottenham's north London rivals Arsenal in the past.[LNB]A switch would also see Redknapp reunited with the player, as he was in charge at Fratton Park when Pompey signed the midfielder for £3.5million in 2006.[LNB]The Spurs boss said said: 'I'm really delighted.
