The agent of Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has held talks with Juventus over a possible move to the Italian club in the summer, according to The Daily Mirror.

Arsene Wenger is desperate to hold onto his inspirational captain, who is also being chased by Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, PSG and both Milan clubs.

The recently crowned PFA Players' Player of the Year and Football Writers' Footballer of the Year will be offered a new four-year deal that will shatter Arsenal's wage structure, with an additional £5m signing-on fee.

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has been in contact with the Dutch forward's representatives in an attempt to lure him to the club.

Arsene Wenger has said he wants to resolve the future of his star player before the beginning of the Euros in June.

The club would rather let his contract run into its final year then let him leave, although a number of clubs including Juve will tempt them with a £25 million offer.
