Jamie Carragher seen by England as coach to lead the next generation
Jamie Carragher will be invited into the England coaching set-up after the FA identified him as a potential international manager.[LNB]The inspirational Liverpool defender is to be offered the chance to launch his coaching career working with young England teams.[LNB]He has been identified as an elite player with serious coaching ambitions capable of helping youngsters through the international ranks, as well as establishing his credentials as a potential national boss.[LNB] We need you, Jamie! Carragher in action for England against the USA at the World Cup finals in South Africa [LNB]Sir Trevor Brooking, the FA'sdirector of football development, confirmed the organisation wereseeking to appoint new young English coaches.[LNB]Brooking said: 'We will probablybring someone in, in the new year, trying to involve them across thebroad part of the organisation, rather than just with the senior team.To look at our teams, our structure and sample what being aninternational manager is all about.[LNB]In demand: Wilshere may be selected for Under 21s and seniors[LNB]'Players who might be starting tothink about doing courses can come in and watch the development teamstrain, just to see if they can have some input and if they like it ornot.'[LNB]Carragher's involvement would not immediately mean a role working directly with Fabio Capello's firstteam, but the FA are keen to absorb him, and others like him, into thesystem rather than see him drift into television like BBC pundit AlanShearer.[LNB]Carragher, out injured afterdislocating his shoulder against Tottenham last month, has made nosecret of his desire to one day manage Liverpool and is well into theprocess of acquiring his coaching qualifications.[LNB]He is a keen student of the gamewith a vast knowledge of players.
