Staying put: France midfielder Patrick Vieira[LNB]Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he was disappointed not to sign Inter Milan midfielder Patrick Vieira this summer.[LNB]Redknapp was hoping to persuade Vieira to come to White Hart Lane despite the fact the Frenchman used to play for Spurs' arch-rivals Arsenal. [LNB]But the deal broke down as the 33-year-old decided to stay at the San Siro despite his bit-part role in three seasons with Milan since moving from Juventus in 2006.[LNB]Redknapp's failure to land Vieira means he is short of options in midfield after he allowed Jamie O'Hara and Kevin-Prince Boateng to join Portsmouth.[LNB]He now only has in-form Wilson Palacios, Jermaine Jenas and Tom Huddlestone to call upon.Redknapp told The Independent: 'I would like to have got Vieira and was genuinely keen on him.
