I almost joined Spurs - Arshavin

Juande Ramos was interested in signing Arshavin from Zenit St Petersburg but Spurs could not agree a fee with the Russian club.[LNB]The playmaker eventually sealed a move to Arsenal in the winter transfer window after a difficult last few months in St Petersburg.[LNB]But he admits he would have considered a switch to White Hart Lane if Zenit had accepted an offer from Tottenham.[LNB]"I was not against a move to Tottenham. If it was down to just me to reach an agreement, the move could have taken place," he explained in the Daily Mail.[LNB]"It could have been so different if Tottenham had been able to agree a fee with Zenit."[LNB]Arshavin has quickly established himself as one of the Premier League's finest players with some sparkling performances over the past nine months.[LNB]However, away from the pitch he concedes it has been hard to adjust to English life.[LNB]"On one hand I love it here," he said. "On the other, I haven't said anything about the difficulties. [LNB]"In Spain, for example, everything seems easier. England is different from many European countries in terms of lifestyle and mentality."[LNB][LNB] West Ham v Arsenal 1st Goalscorer: Arshavin, A. 5/1
